Transport Buddies, Inc. is a Virginia state non-stock corporation currently applying for tax exempt status, and will begin grant writing while we wait for approval. We will begin application submission to federal, state, and private funding agencies after we receive tax exemption. We are working toward:
- Recruiting board members
- Running a fund-raising and building campaign
- Running a design competition for a green Leeds 500 animal member intake, wellness spay/neuter-surgery clinic, and transport facility, with graduation averaging 2-6 weeks.
- Running a membership campaign
- Holding fundraising events
- Applying for private foundation, state, and federal grants
- Locating and purchasing 500 acres with paved road access
- Building the shelter facility for intake, wellness services, low-cost spay/neuter center, surgeries, training, hiking/cardio path, member swimming pool, adoptions, and transports
- Recruiting area builders and developers as volunteers in our building campaign
- Creating the interior animal clinic for volume driven low-cost fees for services, such as intake, wellness, spay-neuter, surgeries, daily care, training, overnight rentals, camping, boarding, and transport costs
- Recruiting volunteers
- Recruiting rescue affiliates, with specific adoption procedures, across the US
- Hiring employees
- Creating transport routes
- Purchasing vehicles, hiring drivers
- Creating operating protocols for all programs
- Training volunteers and employees
